Anneslie

Welcome to Anneslie

Anneslie is a quaint Baltimore suburb with a small-town feel. Known for its supportive, friendly community, Anneslie is a great place to call home. This neighborhood is filled with charming architecture and rich history. Starting in the 1920s, this community has grown to encompass over 500 homes.

In the 100 years since its conception, this neighborhood has retained its original charm. For example, what once was the 119-acre Villa Anneslie estate echoes the property's past and continues to be seen along the streets today. The original Villa still stands at the heart of this community as a reminder of its past. Brimming with historical charm, Anneslie is also a friendly and walkable community.

Dining, Entertainment, Shopping & More

Anneslie Community Association hosts myriad annual events. Each winter, families can watch Santa cruise through Anneslie and compete in a holiday decorating contest with prizes for categories like most traditional and most creative.

Spring brings activities like bowling night at Stoneleigh Lanes, a “spring cleaning” neighborhood yard sale, and an environmentally conscious dumpster day. Movie nights and charity events fill the summer calendar, and the community goes all-out for Halloween.

Anneslie locals can walk to local eateries and small businesses along York Road. Vallegio Cafe, The Charmery, and True Balance Studio are just a couple of neighborhood favorites. For quick home fixes, there is Ayd Hardware which has served the community since 1974. A short drive to nearby Towson offers larger retail malls like Towson Town Center, The Shops at Kenilworth (with Trader Joes), Towson Place, and Towson Row.  Each contains retail multitudes from boutique shops to larger chain stores like Target, Whole Foods, Utla, and PetSmart. Macy’s and Nordstrom are the flagship stores of the Towson Town Center.

Like other Towson neighborhoods, Anneslie is an excellent place to live for academics with fellowships at nearby Johns Hopkins University, Towson University, and Goucher College. Not to mention the two major hospitals in Towson; Greater Baltimore Medical Center, and University of Maryland St. Joseph’s Medical Center. Located just 15 minutes outside of downtown Baltimore, professionals of all ages living in the neighborhood get ample access to opportunities in and around Baltimore City and Towson.

In nearby Baltimore City, located a short drive from Anneslie are many other top-rated eateries like Woodberry Kitchen. This hip restaurant serves refined, contemporary American cuisine in its rustic-chic dining room. With a commitment to farm-to-table produce, each meal bursts with fresh flavors.
